Two different device holder designs on the sheet provided.  
Read the success criteria to complete this to a high standard.
You must also bring in your cardboard template/prototype of how this will be made.
Next lesson if this is completed you will be designing and making your device holder!




Monday 27th Feb students homework

Complete your 4 designs of your photo frame holder.  This was started in class and must be completed by Monday 13th March.

Using the cardboard that was handed out in class, fold, bend and manipulate to help design your photoframe.  

Success Criteria

Title - Photo frame designs
Four different designs drawn of your photo frame (side view or birds eye view)
Drawn in pencil
Use a ruler for straight lines
Write measurements.


If you are unsure of your work, please come and see me or email me.  Good work for those that have come in to check and ask questions to make sure they are on the right track.

Collage of plastic A4 page (I am making a display on the wall)
Drawn device on back of page.



On your device design page, you must draw your device (tablet, phone, MP3 player with measurements) on the back of your page.  It must have all of the measurements like the example on the front top left corner of your design page.

Title Page Success Criteria 

Your Title Page must include the following:
  • Draw lightly in pencil first then go over with coloured pencil.
  • A large, clear title Technology Hard Materials Technology
  • Your name
  • Your class
  • A border around the page, the same distance from all 4 edges which are ruled.
  •  A neat, clear picture which is relevant to the title.
  •  All colouring should be shaded, not scribbled.
  • No HB pencil lines left on the page, just colour.
Due next lesson

Collage on an A4 piece of paper of pictures of plastic.  This can be cut from magazines, junk mail, newspaper or even pieces of plastic eg plastic bags.

Bring in a photo which is 15cmx10cm.  It can be a photo of anything.  This is going to be going into your photo frame that you will make in class.

On your device design page, you must draw your device on the back of your page.  It must have all of the measurements like the example on the front top left corner of your design page.
